GETTING STARTED

In order for VideoSynching.com to synch your video to the transcript, we need two things:

  1. A properly formatted ASCII file – The ideal type of ASCII is a “Page Image ASCII." Every court reporter's CAT software should be able to produce a Page Image ASCII file. The only ASCII file extensions that we can accept are: *.asc, *.trn, *.txt, *.v1, *.v2, and *.ami (an AMICUS transcript). You will generally receive an ASCII file from your court reporter in a standard transcript package.  If you do not, they can provide one upon request.

  2. The video of the deposition – Although we can accept practically any format of video, the preferred formats are VHS, DV, DVCAM, and DVD. If you have a different format that needs to be digitized, there may be additional time and cost associated. If your video has already been digitized into an MPEG 1 format, we will accept it and you will not be charged for the digitization.

If you have your ASCII and video and would like to get started, go to our Order a Video Synch page. There you will fill in your contact, shipping and billing information. You will also fill in the details of your order and tell us what video format you are sending and when you expect it to arrive. If you wish, you can upload your ASCII file to our server as well.

You will receive a confirmation email upon completion of the form. After you’ve done this and sent your video, you’re done!
